Western Reserve Earns High Rankings in Surveys

Western Reserve Masonic Community has been honored with strong rankings in two recently released 2008 surveys.

The Medina-based facility merited four stars out of five overall from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Five-Star Quality Rating System for nursing homes. The system was created to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas they may have questions in.

Nursing home ratings are taken from three sources of data: Health Inspections, Staffing and Quality Measures. The three ratings are then combined to get an overall rating.

Western Reserve Masonic Community got a 92.5 percent rating on the Family Satisfaction Survey from the Ohio Department of Aging, which is above the state average of 88.2 percent. This survey reflects the care as reported by residents’ family members, friends and guardians, covering a variety of questions across various departments.

Earlier in 2008, Western Reserve earned a 95.7 percent ranking above the state average of 91.7 percent in resident satisfaction with quality of care based on the Ohio Residential Care Facility Resident Satisfaction Survey.

The campus also received the 2008 National Mature Media Award in the special events category. It earned the Merit Award for its annual Renaissance Fair and was one of only four senior housing organizations in the nation to be so honored.

Western Reserve Masonic Community offers quality retirement living for people ages 55-older with independent living villa homes and apartments, skilled living apartments and skilled nursing care. For more information, call (330) 721-3000.
